【16 Hair Care Habits That Transformed My Hair】

1. Lift your hair when sleeping or sitting on a chair with a backrest.

2. Brush your hair before bed. If it’s tangled, it can easily get pulled out while you sleep.

3. If you use hairline powder, styling spray, or oil control spray, make sure to wash your hair that same day!

Not washing can lead to hair loss the next day❗️

4. Install a water purifier or softener at home if possible. If not, use a filtered showerhead.

The quality of water affects hair quality—just look at the great hair in Korea!

5. Avoid frequently tying your hair in a high ponytail.

I suspect my large forehead is due to tying high ponytails daily since childhood 😭.

Also, try to use silk hair ties.

6. Apply scalp serum every night. It’s like using serum for your face; it has a subtle but significant impact.

7. Invest in a good hair dryer. It can last for years and, on a daily basis, isn’t very costly🉑️.

8. Don’t use the same shampoo for too long. It's best to rotate between two or three different ones.

Choose your shampoo based on weather changes, whether you’ve exercised and sweated, and the level of air pollution.

9. Avoid washing your hair with very hot water! It can cause hair loss❗️

A good habit is to wash your face first. If the water feels warm and not hot on your face, it’s safe for your hair.

10. Before washing your hair, apply 20 pumps of hair oil below your shoulders and leave it for at least 30 minutes.

Some might think 20 pumps are too much, but my hair care mentor Zhang Xiaohui uses 30 pumps!

11. Before washing, brush your hair with a cushion brush.

Inadequate rinsing can lead to hair loss and, as I recently learned, can even cause skin sagging and a droopy face🫠.

13. Before blow-drying, apply 3-4 pumps of hair oil to wet hair. When your hair is 70-80% dry, apply 2 more pumps and continue drying.

This method makes your hair more voluminous and protects it from heat.

14. When using a hair dryer, lift your hand high and blow your hair from the top down along the cuticles.

15. Learn to use disposable styling tools! This includes curling irons, straighteners, crimpers, bang curlers, and volumizing sprays.

If you have naturally good hair, you can experiment, but if you don’t, avoid these processes as no amount of care can fully restore damaged hair.
